| SULTAN ALAEDDIN SULEIMAN SHAH COLLEGE

On 25th April 1996, the 7th Residential College was officially renamed as Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS) after the late Sultan of Selangor. The naming ceremony was carried out by his grandson, the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

 

The name of the late sultan was chosen because of his generous contributions to UPM. Indeed, Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah presided over the opening of the Malayan School of Agriculture (Sekolah Pertanian Malaya), the original incarnation of UPM. This prestigious history, in addition to the continued excellence of KOSASS’s residents, has made KOSASS one of the best residential colleges in UPM.
